Man in court over discovery of firearm in Doncaster street

A man is due in court today over the discovery of a firearm in a Doncaster street.

Stanislav Duoba, aged 32, of no fixed abode, was arrested on Saturday night after reports of a man with a gun threatening shoppers in Sandringham Road, Intake.

Officers recovered an air weapon and after questioning the man he was charged with two firearm offences and assaulting a police officer.

He is due to appear at Doncaster Magistrates Court today.

Initial reports suggested the firearm was a machine gun.
