A South Yorkshire Police worker has been sacked over violence at a McDonald’s restaurant.

The member of staff, who has not been named, was convicted of battery during a hearing at Leeds Magistrates’ Court in February over an incident at a McDonald’s restaurant at Leeds Railway Station three months earlier.

An internal misconduct hearing has now been held as part of South Yorkshire Police’s disciplinary procedures and the employee was found guilty of gross misconduct and sacked from the force without notice.
