ON FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF WALE ADAM BOOTH: "Josh Wale, who is Britain's version of Antonio Margarito. When Dave Coldwell kept telling me about Josh Wale, and he was really geeing him up, I thought this kid better live up the expectation. And then as soon as I saw him spar with Martin Lindsay, who is genuine European class featherweight at this minute in time, and how Josh mauled him all the way around the ring, it made me realise he had one attribute because to be a successful champion you have to have a special talent, whatever that talent is. And Josh has certainly got a unique ability to apply his implacable will on whoever he's in the ring with. And to be honest he is your worst nightmare in a boxing ring because he's the type of fella you keep punching at and you just keep finding him right in your chest punching away, every minute of every round just like Antonio Margarito did to Miguel Cotto.
"And I think and so does David (Haye) that Josh is simmering under the surface and all of a sudden and in the next year he's going to erupt. I've promised Josh that we are going to do everything we can in our power to make sure that within the next 12 months he is British champion and I've got no doubts that he can do that because I've seen enough of the British champion at his weight division and I think Josh mauls him from pillar to post.
"They better run away from him outside the ring because as soon as he gets them inside they ring they've got nowhere to go. He's horrible. We watched him sparring in Cyprus and there's two fighter who David and I have invested quite heavily in as well, very stand out fighters in their own right. One is heavier and one's lighter than Josh and then Dave turns up with Josh and they start sparring and David and I are sitting at the back going 'oh Jesus.' He's horrible."
DAVID HAYE: "He's a Tasmanian devil."
CURTIS WOODHOUSE: "Well I've actually sparred with Josh believe it or not, though I weigh three stones heavier than him. First time I sparred with him I thought well he's a lot lighter than me so take it easy and after about 15 seconds when he'd smacked me in the nose about ten times you have to start hitting him a bit harder to keep him off you. I think he's going to go all the way."

ON WALE'S PREVIOUS FIGHTS DAVE COLDWELL: "He's boxed some guys that are heavier than him. He's boxed Robin Deakin who's a tough kid and dropped Kevin Mitchell's brother whose a big Sports Network prospect. Josh absolutely pummled him put him on the ropes round after round. After the first round Mark Williams, who was in the corner with me, turned round to me and said 'does Josh realise this is a six rounder?' But he kept up the pace . The guy was ten pounds heavier than him and he absolutely pasted him.
"The last fight he boxed an African, Ayitte Mettle who had gone the distance with Jamie Harper whose Commonwealth and super featherweight and another unbeaten prospect in Ireland whose 10-0 who I believe is rated above Josh at the moment and he went the distance with him in an eight rounder. He did not last a round with Josh.
"This is the thing with him. We are the making matches where the opponent are supposed to give him problems. I said to Josh's dad before the fight that this kid is a good operator, an international operator. It's going to be a hard fight and it was the easiest fight of his career because Josh is getting better and better with each fight."
RYAN RHODES: "I have never seen as many punches thrown in one round. Talk about value for money. You are just on the edge of your seat and he's following this kid from pillar to post and I felt sorry for the kid actually. He couldn't do a thing. You cannot beat value for money with Josh."

ON THE UPCOMING CALLAGHAN FIGHT JOSH WALE: "I've got a big fight against Marc Callaghan, the biggest fight of my career so I'm hopefully going to put a show on against him. Beat him up. Then hopefully one fight at a time and some time when they think I'm ready, go for the British title and that's what I want. I promised my mam and dad the British title belt and I'm going to do my upmost to get it, nobody's stopping me.
He's obviously the best fighter I've fought in my professional career. He's very tough. Upmost respect for him. It's going to be a good fight for me.
"He's had a lot more fights than me so yeah it should be a good fight. But he's in my way so that's it.
"When I beat Marc I'll be up there in the top five and obviously the board will be looking at the English title and British title. If I'm in the top five I'm right up there so definitely it's a big fight.
"My dad has put me through a programme that we always go through. I always train for 12 hard rounds. Even if I'm doing a four rounder I train for 12. I'm in the best shape if my life, everybody says that but I am. I've been training really hard, my dad has pushed me to the limit and hopefully I can put a good show on."
DAVE COLDWELL: "I believe that Marc Callaghan is the perfect opponent for him. Callaghan will come to win, he wants the fight and he want to get the British title. He's rated number five, he's on the verge of a title shot himself. All he needs to do is to derail an unbeaten prospect that everyone's talking about. I just feel Josh is way too strong, way too fit. His fitness levels are amazing. I just think I will look good and it will be an exciting fight. You cannot have a Josh Wale fight that is not exciting.
"I feel that Marc Callaghan, he's number five, he's a championship caliber fighter, it brings Josh to another level and he will perhaps have to bring other details to his game, to the fight plan. Mick, his dad, is working on that with him."

ON WALE'S TITLE PROSPECTS ADAM BOOTH: "We won't hang around with what we want to try and do with Josh and while the Boxing Board of Control make the decisions with what to do with the area title and the English title and also the British title, we well be looking at making Josh the fights that move him up the European rankings and the world rankings. The same way with David. David didn't box for the British title because things got messed around, opponents pulled out so he just moved onto straight away to the European title because we had opened up the avenues and that's the thing we say we want to do with our fighters. They aren't just aiming for a British title but they are thinking about becoming world champion."
DAVE COLDWELL: "The thing about Josh is when I put him in for his Central Area title, you have to apply to the board. When I applied to the board I was met with a little bit of hesitation because they were saying will you know, 'the kid's only had five fights, at that point he's had four fights. We don't really want somebody boxing for a title in his fifth fight.' Well my argument to that was well would you rather him pad his record out against guys who are coming in just to survive another ten fights and then I'll put him in for an area title belt? What's he learning by doing any of that? And he justifies me putting him in for an area title, scheduled ten rounder by going out and he blitzed the kid in four rounds.
"The matches that we've got him so far have been the right matches to bring him on. Always with the mind, speaking to his dad, speaking to Josh, with a mind to. This weight division, the super bantamweight division is pretty much shallow. You've got your journeymen that take up quite a good chunk and there's only a handful of fellow prospects and then you've got the champions. In that sort of division you've got to take the right sort of fights while they're in the embryonic stage of the career otherwise they go and we've seen it quite often with certain other promoters, fighters where they have a good padded record that looks great on paper and it looks great on television when they get in the ring but they have to step up against championship class and they get beat because they've not got that experience.
"I personally think that Josh is ready to win the British title tomorrow, I think he's ready to beat Esham Pickering tomorrow but I don't want to put him in a fight where's he's stuck at that level without the rounds, without the experience."

ON WALE'S FUTURE DEVELOPMENT ADAM BOOTH: "We are going to have to start sending him over to the States to spar with (Manny) Pacquiao and (Israel) Vasquez. It's the only chance he's got of getting decent work. If you are a fighter with abilities like Josh whose got the desire, you need to be around great fighters to improve and bring the best out of yourself and we can offer that to him.
"I think the British title for Josh, if he stays as dedicated as he is now, will just be one step on a very quick journey but on that journey he has got to learn fast. And we've made him a promise that inside the ring and outside the ring we will give him everything he needs. So once he's gone through Marc Callaghan like a hot knife through soft butter on September 20th we'll be looking at the sparring for him. So he stops beating up the fighters we are signing."
DAVE COLDWELL: "It's difficult to get him sparring because, he does not go full out but he's immensely strong. He's phenomenally strong for his weight. You cannot get across how strong he is."
